Overall Mogilev region
Mogilev region is situated in the eastern part of the Republic of Belarus. Its square is 29,1 thousand km2. In the east the region borders on Smolensk and Bryansk regions of the Russian Federation. Vitebsk region is to be found to the north, Minsk region – to the west and Gomel region – to the south of Mogilev. Mogilev region makes up 14 % of the territory of the Republic. About 12% of the population live here. The region is considered one of the most highly developed ones in the Republic. Rich industrial and agricultural potential, favorable geographic position, vast market alongside with friendly benevolent hard working population assure the success of one’s business here. There are about 250 enterprises, firms and joint-stock companies in the region. Industry is mainly represented by chemical, petrochemical, machine-building, light and food brunches. Mogilev region accounts for about 16% of the whole industrial output of the Republic. Intellectual potential of Mogilev region is extremely powerful as well. Educational network of the region is comprised by 11 higher educational establishments, 21 specialized secondary , 34 vocational and 326 secondary schools.
